Suppose a regression with 51 observations returns a regression sum of squares of 56,000 and a total sum of squares of 250,000. the associated residual sum of squares is:

    This is a regression problem in which the total sum of squares is obtained by summing up the regression sum of squares and the residual sum of squares.

    Therefore;

    Residual sum of squares = Total sum of squares - Regression sum of squares
