How to round in math im confused

So rounding can be confusing but it can also be pretty easy

Here is an example:

4556.78 round to the nearest whole number

So what I was taught to do is underline what you are rounding, in this case, the 7. After that you see if 7 I greater than 5, in this case, it is so your new answer would be 4557
