    5 (2x-8) + 15=-15

    distribute 5 into (2x-8)

    5 (2x) + 5 (-8) + 15=-15

    10x + (-40) + 15=-15

    simplify

    10x + (-25) = -15

    add 25 on both sides to get 20x alone

    10x + (-25) + 25=-15+25

    10x=-10

    divide 10 on both sides to get x alone

    10x/10=-10/10

    x=-1
