Grammage is the mass per unit area of paper. Suppose an office printer paper has a grammage of 80 grams per square meter.

a. A single sheet of letter size paper measure 216mm by 280mm. Express the area of one sheet of paper in square meters.

b. What is the mass of a single sheet of letter size printer paper?

c. A single ream of paper contains 500 sheets. What is the total mass of the ream?

    0.216 m * 0.280 m = 0.06048 m^2

    b)

    0.06048 m^2 * 80 g/m^2 = 4.8384 g

    c)

    4.8384 g * 500 = 2419.2 g = 2.4192 kg
