    A polynomial function with roots r1, r2, r3, r4 is factoed as

    (x-r1) (x-r2) (x-r3) (x-r4)

    given

    r1=1

    r2=2

    r3=-3

    r4=-1

    f (x) = (x-1) (x-2) (x - (-3)) (x - (-1))

    f (x) = (x-1) (x-2) (x+3) (x+1)

    do math yourself

    f (x) = x⁴+x³-7x²-x+6
