2x + 10 = 3 (x + 4) - x
Multiply the number outside the parenthesis with the numbers/variables inside the parenthesis
2x + 10 = 3x + 12 - x
Subtract 10 from both sides
2x = 3x + 2 - x
Add x to both sides
3x = 3x + 2
Subtract 3x from both sides
Final Answer: x=2
