The sum of two numbers is 44. The larger number is 14 more than the smaller number what are the numbers?

    Let b>a then:

    b=a+14

    and we are told that:

    a+b=44, using b found above in this we get:

    a+a+14=44

    2a+14=44

    2a=30

    a=15, since b=a+14

    b=29

    So the numbers are 15 and 29
