    The discriminant is the value of b²-4ac

    rewrite the equation in standard form: 3x²-10x-2=0

    b=-10, a=3, c=-2

    b²-4ac = (-10) ²-4*3 * (-2) = 100+24=124

    124 is the answer.

    3x2 - 10x - 2 = 0

    discriminant is here

    b2 - 4ac

    = (-10) 2 - 4.3. (-2)

    = 100+24

    = 124
