Weight on mars (Y) varies directly as the weight on earth X a piece of equipment weighs 150 pounds on earth and 50 pounds on Mars what is an equation that would represent this direct variation if another piece of equipment weighs 60 pounds on earth how much does it weigh on Mars

    Hello!

    First you have to find the weight difference between Earth and Mars in a ratio which in this case is 1:3

    Then you put in the 60 pounds on the Earth side.

    60:?

    So you do 60/3

    The answer is 20
