A carnival charges each person an admission fee and a fee per ride. A family pays 6 admission fees, and they pay for a total of 20 rides. A couple pays 2 admission fees, and they pay for a total of 18 rides. The family pays a total of $64. The couple pays a total of $44. Which augmented matrix can be used to determine the cost per admission and the cost per ride? hurry!

    The augmented matrix used is;

    [6 20| 64]

    [ 2 18| 44]

    let x is the admission fee per person and y is the fee per ride.

    Then the expression for family;

    6x + 20 y = $64

    and the expression for couple;

    2x + 18 y = $44

    2 (x+9y) = 44

    x+9y = 44/2

    x+9y = 22

    x = 22-9y

    now put this value of x in the family expression;

    6 (22-9y) + 20y = 64

    132 - 54y + 20y = 64

    -34y = - 68

    y = 2

    now put the value of y in the expression x = 22-9y

    x = 22 - 9 (2)

    x = 22 - 18

    x = 4

    Thus, the price of per admission fees is $4 and cost per ride is $2.
