If x-1/3=k and k=3 what is the value of x sat math section 3

    First, start with plugging K's value in:

    x-1/3 = k

    x-1/3 = 3

    Then solve to get the x alone:

    x-1/3 * 3 = 3 * 3

    x-1 = 9

    x-1 + 1 = 9+1

    x = 10

    (& because I'm not entirely sure about what the equation says ... i'll solve the another way ...)

    x-1/3 = 3

    x-1/3 + 1/3 = 3 + 1/3

    x = 3 1/3
