Jim wants to put a wallpaper border around a rectangular room. The

room measures 14 feet by 10 feet. If the wallpaper border comes in strips

that are 20 feet long, how many strips will Jim need?

A. 48

    Perimeter is distance around the room.

    Perimeter = 14 + 10 + 14 + 10 = 48 feet

    Rolls needed = Perimeter / roll length = 48 / 20 = 2.4.

    Since you can't buy a partial roll you have to get a full roll

    Rolls need = 2.4 rounded up to the next number is 3.

    Answer is C.
