There are 22 events at an indoor track and field meet. The ratio of track and events to field events is 8:3. How many of the events are track events?

    16 track and events and 6 events. Since if it is 8:3 that means the total is 11, and 22 is double 11. The ration would double in size. Making 8:3 to 16:6. If you add 16 and 6, you would get 22 in all.
