A number pattern has 5 terms. the first term is 13. the rule of the pattern is add 9 what are the 5 terms of the pattern?

    An arithmetic sequence always has the rule:

    a (n) = a+d (n-1), a=initial term, d=common difference, n=term number

    In this case, a=13 and d=9 so

    a (n) = 13+9n-9

    a (n) = 9n+4

    so the first 5 terms are:

    13, 22, 31, 40, 49
