Suppose a large pizza is divided into 3 equal sized pieces and a small pizza is divided into 4 equal sized pieces and you get 1 piece from each pizza.

Does 1/3 + 1/4 represent the amount that you received? Explain why or why not.

    NO because you got 1/3 add 1/4 that is not the end of it.

    That is a sum. Solve it. 1/3 add 1/4 is 7/12.

    Summary : No because the result is a sum, so to get it right you must get the final result. Solve the sum to get 7/12.

    I worded it as best as I could, it was hard!
