    F (x) = log3 (x + 1)

    so (x + 1) = 3^ (F (x)) (by the definition of logarithms)

    x = 3^ (Fx) - 1

    F-1 (x) = 3^x - 1

    F (-1 (2) = 3^2 - 1 = 8
