Number of year Mary's salary be the same at both = 7 year

    Equal salary amount = 46,500

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Given:

    Starting salary in job A = 36,000

Gain per year in job A = 1,500

    Starting salary in job B = 29,000

Gain per year in job B = 2,500

    Find:

Number of year Mary's salary be the same at both = ?

    Equal salary amount = ?

    Computation:

Assume : in x year salary from job A is equal to salary from job B

    Salary from job A in x year = 36,000 + 1,500 x ... Eq1

    Salary from job B in x year = 29,000 + 2,500 x ... Eq2

    From Eq1 and Eq2

    36,000 + 1,500 x = 29,000 + 2,500 x

    7,000 = 1,000 x

    x = 7 Year

Number of year Mary's salary be the same at both = 7 year

    From Eq1 ...

    Equal salary amount = 36,000 + 1,500 (7)

    Equal salary amount = 36,000 + 10,500

    Equal salary amount = 46,500
