    First let's put the equation into slope-intercept form ...

    y = mx + b

    4x - 2y = - 12

    -2y = - 4x - 12

    y = 2x + 6

    In this form, the y intercept is represented by b (in this case 6).

    Now if we set y = to zero in the equation, that will give us the x intercept ...

    0 = 2x + 6

    -6 = 2x

    -3 = x

    So we have ...

    x Intercept = - 3

    y intercept = 6

    X intercept is where the line crosses the x axis or where y=0

    y intercept is where the line crosses the y axis or where x=0

    x intercept

    set y=0 and solve

    4x-2 (0) = - 12

    4x=-12

    x=-3

    (-3,0) is x intercept

    y intercept

    set x=0 and solve

    4 (0) - 2y=-12

    -2y=-12

    y=6

    (0,6)

    xint = (-3,0)

    yint = (0,6)
