Equivalent means "equal to", so we're trying to find a fraction that is equal to 2/5

the easiest way to do this is multiply the fraction by 2, which means you multiply both the top number (2) and the bottom number (5) by 2.

this will give you 4/10, which is equivalent to 2/5.

for 1/3 you can do the same thing, in which case you would get 2/6.
