You and some friends went out to T. G. I. Friday's for dinner. You ordered a root bear, sweet potato fries, and cheese quesadillas. The total bill came to $21.86. Your dad has told you many times that it's important to leave a good tip; about 20%. You have $26.00 in your wallet. How much would the total be if you left a 20% tip? Can you cover the cost?

    21.86 (1+20) / 100≤26

    21.86 (120/100) ≤26

    21.86 (1.2) ≤26

    26.232≤26

Since 26.232>26, you cannot cover the cost.

    21.86 + 0.2 (21.86) = 21.86 + 4.37 = 26.23 < = = total with 20% tip

if u have $ 26, then u will not be able to leave a 20% tip ... u would be short by 23 cents
