The range of a data set is the difference between the largest and smallest number in that set

Ordering the numbers makes it easier to find the largest and smallest number

Mark off each number as you put them in order to make sure you don't miss anything!

    25.2 is the smallest number

    48.2 is the largest number

To find the range, subtract 25.2 from 48.2

48.2 minus 25.2 is 23, which is our range!

The range of a set of data is the difference between the highest and lowest values in the set. To find the range, first order the data from least to greatest. Then subtract the smallest value from the largest value in the set.
