A sum is simply the result or amount that is obtained or achieved after adding two or more number or terms. Example: - we have 4 mangoes, 2 pineapples, 6 tangerines and 11 oranges in a basket. The sum of these fruits is simply the addition of the number of mangoes, pineapples, guavas and oranges in the basket which is: 4+2+6+11 = 23 fruits. Therefore, the sum of the fruits in the basket is 23.
On the other hand, "difference" with respect to mathematics is the result that is obtained after the subtraction of a number from another number or term. Example: if there are 16 pineapples in a basket and 14 pineapples in the refrigerator, the difference between the pineapples in the basket and the ones in the refrigerator is 16 - 4 = 2
Product is the result obtained by the multiplication of two or more numbers or terms.
Quotient refers to the result that is gotten after the division of a number by another number or term.
