    There are 48 soccer balls in a sports store

    => 1/8 of it were sold in the morning

    => ½ were sold in the afternoon

    a. Let’s solve he 1/8 and ½ value first

    => 1/8 = 0.125

    => 1/8 of 48

    => 48 * 0.125 = 6 were sold in the morning

    => 48 - 6 = 42, remaining then ½ of were sold In the afternoon.

    => ½ = 0.5

    => 42 * 0.5 = 21, were sold in the afternoon

    => 6 + 21 = 27

    Altogether they sold 27 balls.
