Ted drives from jefferson to holden a distance of 250 miles. he then travels to to paxton which 50 miles from holden, if it take 5 hours to complete the trip how fast is he traveling

    So first you would add up the miles given which would be 250 + 50 = 300. Then you would divide the 300 miles into the number of hours which is 5, so

    300/5 = 60. The answer is that Ted is traveling 60 miles an hour.
