An office needs to order carpet for a waiting room measuring 30 ft. by 24ft. The carpet is sold in square yards. How many square yards of carpet will need to be bought, to carpet the area needed?

    First thing first is to know that there are 3 feel in one yard

    To find the perimeter of the room do 30 times 24 which is 720 divided by 9 (because 3 feet times 3 feet is nine which represents the square yard) to get to square yards is 80

    The answer is 80 square yards
