I saw a shirt for $97. I borrowed $50 from mom and $50 from dad. After purchasing I return $1 to mom and $1 to dad and kept $1 for me. I now owe $49+$49=$98 plus $1 I kept my self which is $99, Where did $1 go?

    You still ow $49 to each, bruh. since you started with $100 and returned $2 and kept $1 thats all you had after purchasing
