7/8 because they are both 1/3 or 1/8 away from a whole but since 8 is a bigger number it needs to be divided into smaller sections and that means that you have less space to make a whole so 7/8 is greater than 2/3

7/8 is greater because if you put the two fractions' denominator as the same one, than it is (2*8) / (3*8) and (7*3) / (8*3) which is 16/24 and 21/24 so 21/24 is greater which is also 7/8
