    Y = 2/7

    Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.

    5y+2-3 (4y) = 0

    5y+2+-12y=0

    (5y+-12y) + (2) = 0 (Combine Like Terms)

    -7y+2=0

    Step 2: Subtract 2 from both sides.

    -7y+2-2=0-2

    -7y=-2

    Step 3: Divide both sides by - 7.

    -7y/-7=-2/-7

    y=2/7
