He wanted to make another quilt with an area of 42 square feet. What are its possible dimension if they must be whole numbers which length and width makes the most sense for a quilt

    It would more than likely be 7ft and 6ft. Especially since you are using whole numbers.

    You could use 7 and 6 because when you multiply theses you get 42 as your answer or product.
