Two consecutive even intergers such that the smaller added to four times the larger gives a sum of 58

    Let smaller number be 2x, then the nest even number will be 2x + 2

    so 2x + 4 (2x + 2) = 58

    2x + 8x + 8 = 58

    10x = 50

    x = 5

    So the first number is 2*5 = 10 and second one is 12
