First use the numbers they provided you. I'm going to use a and b as an example. You use the bigger number first or the one they say to use first, lets say it's a so then you add the subtraction sign. Then put the number your subtracting from and finally you subtract. Then after that your left off with this as your problem as an example a-b=c.
