What is the factored form of fx = 2x2 + 6x-8

    2x^2+6x-8 the factors j and k will be the two values that satisfy two conditions ...

    jk=ac=-16 and j+k=b=6 so j and k must be 8 and - 2

    2x^2-2x+8x-8

    2x (x-1) + 8 (x-1)

    (2x+8) (x-1)

    2 (x+4) (x-1)
