    The length of the rectangle is 35m and the width is 7m. Therefore, the perimeter is 84m.

    So lets say that the width of the rectangle is x. If the lenght of the rectange is 5 times the width of the rectangle we must multiply x by 5. So the width is x and the lenght is 5x. The area of a rectangle is found by multiplying the length and the width. So we know that

    x by 5x = 245m^2. Now we just need to work with the equation and find x.

    x (5x) = 5x ^2

    The equation is now:

    5x^2=245m^2

    Divide both sides by 5:

    x^2 = 49

    Square root both sides:

    x = 7

    Check your answer by substituting in:

    5 (7) x 7 = 245m^2

    Now we know that x = 7 so if one side is 5x that means 5 (7) = 35

    The opposite lengths of a rectangle are congruent so the other side must also be 35. This gives us 70m

    As one side is x that means one side is 7, since the opposite widths of a rectangle are congruent that means that the other side must also be 7. This gives us 14m.

    If we add 70m and 14m = 84. < - - - That is the perimeter.
