The cost of a candle varies directly with the volume of the candle. If a candle with a volume of 80 cm³ costs $12, what would be the cost of a candle with a volume of 120 cm³?

    If c represents that cost, then

    ... 12/80 = c/120

    ... c = 120 * (12/80) = 18

    The cost of the larger candle is $18.
