    They can make 7 teams. 7 x 4 = 28. They will just have 1 person extra, and he cannot be on a team. Just go 1 below 29, which is 28. You can make teams of four out of 28. So once again, there can be 7 teams, and 1 person cannot be on a team.

    29 friends

    4 friends in 1 team

    29 = (7·4) + 1

    so out of 29 friends we can make 7 teams of 4 players and 1 person will be left out.
