Category 5 cables use the older standard to carry theoretical speeds between 10 and 100 mbps of data.

The specs specify that the maximum length is 100 m, including up to 10 m of patch cables.

In practice, it is possible to carry a greater length, but results are not guaranteed by the specs, nor the warranties, if any.
