Mrs. amrien made a cylindrical pencil holder. it has a height of 5 in and a diameter of 3 in. how much material does she need to make her pencil holder

    3 divided by 2 equils 1.5 that's the radius

    Then pi x radius squared

    Then times that by the length the answer is

    Area of the side around = 3x5 = 15 inches²

    the area of the bottom is π x radius² = π x 1.5² = 7.07inches

    (the diameter is 3 therefore the radius is 1.5)

    all of the material needed is the side and the bottom = 15+7.07 = 22.07inches
