A theater charges $5 for student tickets and $7 for adults tickets. They sold 75 tickets for a total of $425. Which set of equations can be used to determine x, the number of students tickets sold, and y, the number of adult tickets sold?

    2. (5*x) + (7*y) = $425

    They sold 75 tickets total, so one of your equations will be x+y=75.

    The other equation has to do with the price.

    5x+7y=425.
