Substitute value of the y = equation into your other equation.
So:
4x + 2 (-3x + 4) = 2
4x - 6x + 8 = 2
-2x = - 6
x = 3
Then substitute in your found x value to get y
y = - 3 (3) + 4
y = - 9 + 4
y = - 5
