The length of a rectangular field is 7 m less than 4times the width. The perimeter is 136 m. Find thewidth and the length of the rectangle.

    Length (L) : 4w - 7

    width (w) : w

    Perimeter (P) = 2L + 2w

    136 = 2 (4w - 7) + 2 (w)

    136 = 8w - 14 + 2w

    136 = 10w - 14

    150 = 10w

    15 = w

    Length (L) : 4w - 7 = 4 (15) - 7 = 60 - 7 = 53

    Answer: width=15 m, length=53 m
