The first thing we need to do is find the area of the rectangle ...

    l x w = A

    7 x 8 = 56

So the area of the first rectangle is 56m.

Now we multiply each dimension by 5 ...

    8 x 5 = 40

    7 x 5 = 35

So, now the width is 40m and the length is 35m,

Then, find the area of the new rectangle ...

    35 x 40 = 1400

The area of this rectangle is 1,400m!

    1,400 / 56 = 25

So, by multiplying each dimension by 5, the area is now multiplied by 25!
