    Width = x - 2

    Perimeter = 16 cm

    2 * (length + width) = 16

    2 * (x + x-2) = 16

    2 * (2x - 2) = 16

    2x - 2 = 16 / 2

    2x - 2 = 8

    2x = 8+2

    2x = 10

    x = 10/2

    x = 5

    Length of the rectangle = 5 cm
