The kinetic energy of a moving object can be calculated from the expression 1/2mv[2], where m is the mass of the object in kilograms and v is its speed in meters per second. find the kinetic energy of a 145-kg baseball that is thrown at a speed of 40 meters per second

    So, we plug the values back into the formula. 1/2 (145) (40) ^2

    First we square velocity, so it will be: 1600.

    Then 1600*145 = 232000

    Divide this by 2, so: 116,00

    So, the kinetic energy would be 116,000.
