    9 games

    Step-by-step explanation:

    If he purchase 1 game, he spent $12.50. If he purchased 2 games, he spent 2 (12.50) = $25.

    This means he spent 12.5x for x number of games.

    His total spending will be 12.5x + 20. He has $17.50 left on the card from $150.

    150 - (12.5x + 20) = 17.5

    150 - 12.5x - 20 = 17.5

    130 - 12.5x = 17.5

    -12.5x = 17.5 - 130

    -12.5x = - 112.5

    x = 9
