3. Research building codes for such ramps as wheelchair ramps, boat ramps, or loading docks. Choose a building code for a ramp and describe the relationship between the lengths involved using such geometry vocabulary as hypotenuse, adjacent side, and opposite side. Use right triangle concepts from this Unit to find any unknown lengths and angle measures of the ramp. Be sure to identify the type of ramp. Explain if the building code of your ramp makes sense and do the same for the other building codes posted for discussion. Discuss why there are building codes for ramps and how you think they are determined. A diagram of a right triangle is shown with the following parts labeled: hypotenuse, angle ramp makes with ground, adjacent side, and opposite side.

For the building code you have to put it in slope-intercept form which is (M) x+B=y

So, put any number in as M and B and you can change the X axis as much as you want to make multiple lines. Explain if they are a hypotenuse (the longest side of a right triangle, opposite the right angle), adjacent sides (2 sides that meet at an angle), or opposite sides (sides that are directly across from it). If you don't understand say no it doesn't make since or if you do say yes and explain. The last one is you, you have to discuss (if you understand it) with your group or who ever you need to discuss it with.
