Width of the rectangle is 10 m

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Step 1:

Let the width of the rectangle be x. Then length of the rectangle will be 8 + 6x. Perimeter = 156m

    Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 (length + width)

    ⇒ 156 = 2 (8 + 6x + x)

    ⇒ 156 = 16 + 14x

    ⇒ 140 = 14x

    ∴ x = 140/14 = 10 m

⇒ Width of the rectangle is 10 m
