    Hello kiddio lets figure this out!

    Let x = first

    y = second

    Then

    x - 5 = remainder of first

    y - 13 = remainder of second

    x - 5 = 2/3 (y - 13)

    3x - 15 = 2y - 26

    3x - 2y = - 11 ... (1)

    x + y = 43 ... (2)

    From (2) y = 43 - x ... (3)

    Put (3) in (1)

    3x - 2 (43 - x) = - 11

    3x - 86 + 2x = - 11

    5x = 75

    x = 15 cents

    y = 43 - 15

    = 28 cents

    Have a nice day
