    2x^ (3/4) + 7 = 23

    solving for x

    first subtract 7 from both sides

    2x^ (3/4) = 16 [then divide 2 from both sides]

    x^ (3/4) = 8 [then take ^ (4/3) to both sides]

    x = 8^ (4/3) = 16

    therefore True, x = 16
