The equation 2x2 + 8y2 = 32 represents which conic section?

    I believe that's an ellipse. If you divide 2x^2 and 8x^2 by 32 you would get the equation in vertex form. It's an ellipse because both x and y are square, the coefficients in front of the x and y are different and they're both positive.
