Which two numbers add to negative 9 and multiply to negative 10

    It would be - 10 and 1.

    -10 + 1 = - 9

    -10 * 1 = - 10

    10 should be negative not 1 so that the negative sign will carry over to 9. had 10 been positive and 1 negative the answer would have been positive 9.

    in multiplication, signs of the numbers would not matter as long as both have opposing signs to carry over the negative sign. if both number are positive or negative, then the product would be positive.
